The Iowa IAAI is a chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators. The chapter is comprised of professionals from both the public and private sectors aimed to investigate all fires and are determined to apprehend and prosecute those guilty of the crime of arson.
The Iowa IAAI chapter was originally established in April of 1978. The charter of the initial chapter was suspended in 1981 and was reinstated in April of 1984 with a new constitution and by-laws. The president of the first Iowa Chapter after reinstatement was Reynold Hentges, in who's honor a scholarship was later created, and remains today.
