R. C. Hentges Scholarship

In 1997, the Iowa Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators created the R.C. Hentges Scholarship Program in honor of Reynold C. Hentges, 1st President and Life Member of the Iowa Chapter when it was reorganized in 1983. The program is funded by the Iowa Chapter and is awarded to a student that is entering an accredited college within the State of Iowa that is majoring in the Fire Service, Law Enforcement, Legal (prosecution), Fire Protection Engineering, Fire Protection Technology or Insurance (investigation) professions.



Each year the Chapter offers two scholarships. Each scholarship is $500.00, to be paid one-half each of the first two semesters.

All applications and references must be submitted to our office by July 1. John Charles Wilson Scholarship

The International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) awards three or more scholarships annually. The number and amount of the awards given will be determined by the Scholarship Committee with the approval of the Foundation Board of Directors.

To be eligible, applicants must be a member in good standing of the IAAI or the immediate family of a member; or applicant must be recommended and sponsored by a member in good standing of the IAAI. Applicants must be enrolled or planning to enroll in the next scheduled semester of a two or four year accredited college or university that offers courses in police or fire sciences including fire investigation and related subjects. These courses must be taken in addition to other related subjects. Applications must be postmarked no later than February 15 each year. Application postmarked after that date will not be considered.
